Prelude

Mission: Frontline

The ship shuttered with turbulence as it raced through the sky. The MSMC was large for such a small team but it was all that was on hand at such a short period of preparation time. Operation Nujoom was ordered by Haqqislam High Command and was on a strict time frame. Now the dropship raced towards Edda’s Rhodan Spaceport, the soldiers ordered to secure it and push out Combined Army security. The recently formed Quantum Containment Coalition (QCC) deemed it a threat to have the alien forces working as primary security of the vital space port, and O12 was unresponsive to this. The Sword of Allah was tasked with this objective as Yu Jing forces defend against JSA and Combined Army retribution at Huaqiao, Ariadna deal with Panoceanian over reach on their native workers, Tohaa forces forced into hiding by maligned propaganda designed by O12, and the Nomad Nation working on their own secret agenda.
The small squad was led by herself, Ra’id Maih Aafah, and consisted of the Khawarij weapons specialist Fahim, Doctor Palavi, Ghulam Doctor Talibah, Haroun, the Hacker, Ghulam Specialist Asil, Zhayedan Gregory, the Namurr Kepri, and a Fanous remote to aid in quantronic communications and control. Maih checked her visor and the marksman's rifle she was equipped with before looking around and taking a quick look at the squad. Gregory was checking his machine gun, while Fahim took stock of the ammo for his Spitfire. Palavi and Talibah were checking each other's medical kits and evening out supplies between them.

Maih addressed the group, “Listen up, I am pinging objectives, they are simple. We are to move in quick and secure additional staging for follow up teams and logistics. Enemy is flagged for Combined Army signatures, O12 signatures are shoot only if shot on first. Muhafiz says there may be Combined Army collaborators in the space port, and we have objectives for them should we encounter, but the high value targets are not prioritized. Move in, take ground. Inshallah, we catch them by surprise.”

“Na’am!” The squad replied.

The drop ship landed with a heavy thud on one of the Rhodan Spaceports tarmacs and opened. The squad immediately ran out quickly into the darkness of the night. As the group got among various spaceport offices and buildings, the vtol engines of the Ramah vessel roared as it took off, and began screaming away, its engines burning bright as it gained speed. Task Force 27 was now deployed and began moving forward, sure as Combined Army security forces were coming to intercept the security threat.

Task Force 27 at Rhodan.

Deployment

“Asil, you take Kepri, Gregory, Talibah, and Haroun through the buildings on the left, I see unidrons on over watch there.” Maih spoke over the comlog, her geist pinging locations of movement, “Fahim, Palavi, we have the right side of the utility street.”

Suddenly the ground shifted slightly, and lighting struck between the buildings in front of both squads. Quantum Anomaly Zones. Maih cursed under breath, as a real time alert came across her comlog, informing her of the creation of Quantum breaks within Rhodan Spaceport. Perfect timing, she thought. Nodding to the squad, she said, “Be careful, we have Quantum breaks.”

Turn 1

Combined Army:
“Ra’id! We have contact!” Gregory yelled to the team.

“Already? Fire when you can!” Maih yelled back.

Smoke began blooming among the structures and the roar of a motorcycle could be heard. Crawling to the edge of a barricade, Maih lay prone, her rifle sticking out covering her lane of fire. On the left flank, a Daturazi witch soldier came running ahead, its chain rifle roared, as Gregory tried to draw his pistol and shoot, but his shot went wide, and he fell back into the street, heavily wounded.

The sound of the Morats' deep, guttural laughter could be heard around the side of the building. Harun, the hacker, unsheathed his knife, and stood flat against the building, the blade raised at chest height. As the wild alien berserker rounded the corner, he shot out his arm, the blade burying itself in the surprised enemy's chest. The red skinned Morat dropped his pole axe and fell to the ground, bleeding. Harun looked down in surprise at his knife sticking up from the corpse. Ripping the knife free, their comlogs were filled with knife emojis.

Haqqislam:
Maihs troops needed to move forward, but the aliens had set up a hard over watch position with a Unidron Plasma Sniper, Unidron Plasma Rifle, and a Q-Drone. Her squad was essentially pinned. Kepri took the initiative and moved her fireteam among buildings blocking their line of sight. Using her agility and strength, she quickly ascended the side of a coffee shop to get roof access. Moving along the second story balcony, she raised her rifle, getting sight of the sniper. Her breaker rifle fired, as the unidron responded, a brief firefight ended with the alien remote collapsed on the ground. Falling back she took a quick shot on another Unidron, doing some damage to it but not putting it down yet.

“Alright lets move.” Maih said to Palavi and Fahim, the three of them standing up and bolting for a large building across the street from them.

Fahim took point, rounding the corner, and opening fire on the Q-Drone. The remote responded, and the tracer fire of its rounds slammed into the street and sign that Fahim was getting cover from. One round slammed into his shoulder, but his armor held. Finally the roar of the spitfire and enemy machine gun ended, with the alien robot riddled and inactive. The three began falling back up the building's exterior steps.

Daturazi incoming!
11! Critical hit!
Deadly firelane.
Kepri on the hunt.
Fahim on the hunt.

Counter attack not going well!
This unidron worked. Luck saved me.
Charontid tried to push forward but ran into one tough Fanous.
Fahim continues the tally.
Dodging forward that extra distance from behind cover.
Kepri makes short work of the Charontid. It survived this, in NWI, but double D-Charges in the next order made it very dead.

Conclusion:

Haqqislam: 5
Combined Army: 2

“Palavi, get Talibah and Gregory fixed up, we need to continue on to Phase 2 objectives.” Maih spoke over the Comlog.

Palavi moved quickly, pulling her medical kit out and assisting the Ghulam Doctor and the Zhayedan Machine Gunner. Reviewing the Fanous remote, Maih connected it to Jacobs Geist back in Bhai. With some instructions and critiquing, Jacob was able to talk her through repairing it enough to function. It had a limp, and its targeting system was misaligned but it was functioning.

“Alright, let’s get moving. We need to take down the AC2 in this sector.”

OOC: This is my neighbors 6th game. He is getting better quickly and we both agree his biggest mistake here was not chain riffling my link team. when his Daturazi came around the corner of the building turn 1. While the knife hit was a lucky crit, his double chain rifles would have decimated the link team. He was focused on getting his Predator classified. He is getting better quick, and he came very close to winning the game right after this.
